ITINERARY

9 NIGHTS / 10 DAYS

Day 1: Bogota

Arrival in Bogota and transfer from the airport to the hotel. Overnight in Bogota. 

Day 2: Bogota (B)

In the morning, discover Bogota’s city center. Visit the colonial center of La Candelaria, the Bolivar Plaza, and the Chorro de Quevedo plaza. In the afternoon, you will visit the Gold Museum and the Botero museum. Housing the largest collection in Latin America of pre-Columbian gold objects and the famous Botero’s works, you’ll be sure to learn a lot about Colombian culture. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 3: Bogota – Neiva (B, D)

Today, take a flight to Neiva. You will have free time for lunch at Villavieja before visiting Los Hoyos (the white desert) and the Cuzco (the red desert). In the evening, you will spend your time at the astronomical observatory stargazing and learn about the planets. Overnight in Neiva.  

 

Day 4: Tatacoa Desert – Tierradentro (B)

Travel to Tierradentro, arriving for free time for lunch in the village. You will take a walk to the Tierradentro Pyramid. Overnight in Tierradentro.

 

Day 5: Tierradentro (B)

After breakfast, enjoy a hike along the river to the top of El Aguacate for panoramic views over the region. Visit the archaeological graves before you have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, you will visit the ethnographic museum and the statues of the Duende. Overnight in Tierradentro.

 

Day 6: Tierradentro – San Agustin (B)

This morning, travel to San Agustin. Enjoy free time for lunch in the village before exploring the town in the afternoon. You will visit a coffee farm and learn of the production process, from grain harvesting to tasting.

Day 7: San Agustin (B)

In the morning, visit the Archeological Park of San Agustin. You will see the mesitas, the museum, the Alto de Lavapatas, and more. Free time for lunch near San Agustin before a horse ride up to La Pelota. Here, you can observe the last coloured statues of San Agustin. Continue to La Chaquira for an amazing view over the canyon of the Magdalena River. Overnight in San Agustin.

Day 8: San Agustin – Popayan  (B)

Today, travel to Popayan—the white city. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided tour in the historical centre of this beautiful colonial city. Overnight in Popayan.

Day 9: Popayan – Silvia – Cali (B)

After breakfast, a journey to Cali. We will stop by the Silvia Market, where you will find the indigenous Guambianos. They come every week to shop in the market. Enjoy free time for lunch on the road or in Cali. Once you arrive in Cali, you will climb to the Cristo Rey viewpoint and visit the Chapel San Antonio, along with the historical city centre. Visit two salsa schools while in Cali as it is internationally recognized as the capital of Salsa. Overnight in Cali.

 

Day 10: Cali (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination
