9 NIGHTS / 10 DAYS
Day 1: Mexico City
Arrival in Mexico City and transfer from the airport to the hotel.
Day 2: Mexico City- City Tour – Museum of Anthropology (B)
Enjoy a city tour of the historic centre, declared cultural heritage of humanity UNESCO. You will be visiting Zocalo, a Cathedral, the Government Palace and Diego Rivera’s Murals. Continue on to Paseo de la Reforma and Chapultepec area, where the Museum of anthropology of located. Return to hotel. Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 3: Mexico City – Basilica of Guadalupe – Pyramids of Teotihuacan (B, L)
Today, enjoy a panoramic tour at the Square of Three Cultures. This historical location was witness to the last battle between the Aztecs and the Spanish during the conquest of Mexico-Tenochtitlan; it is also a fusion of three cultural ages: The Aztec Ruins, The Church of Santiago Apostol and the Ex-Ministry of Foreign Affairs (now a cultural center, property of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). We will continue to Basilica of Guadalupe, where you can see the original image of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a panoramic view of the old Basilica based on the foothills of Tepeyac. From there, you will take a nonstop trail to the Pyramids of Teotihuacan or the “City of Gods” where you can admire the most impressive archaeological site in the Mexico City area. The Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, the Avenue of the Dead and Quetzalcoatl Temple are all available to you. Return to Mexico City. Free time for personal activities.
Day 4: Mexico City – Morelia (B)
Today, you will travel to Morelia. Upon arrival, enjoy a meal before you continue with a city tour of the Cathedral, the Government Palace, Clavijero Palace, the Main Square and the Market of Mexican Candies. You will also be visiting other architectonic beauties such as the Guadalupita Temple at the Convent of San Diego and the aqueduct. Overnight in Morelia.
Day 5: Morelia – Pátzcuaro – Guadalajara (B)
Depart for Pátzcuaro or the “Door of the Sky”. This city is famous for its colonial beauty, cultural customs and traditions. Among its attractions, you can view the Basilica of Our Lady of Health, the House of the Eleven Yards, and the Historical Centre with squares such as Vasco de Quiroga and Gertrudis Bocanegra. Overnight in Guadalajara.
Day 6: Guagalaraja – Tequila (B)
Depart to Tequila, a typical location in where many of the most recognized tequila distilleries are established. Here, you will visit the agave fields—a plant which the piña (heart of agave) is extracted from and is used to obtain the tequila. A visit to a tequila distillery with give you a detailed explanation of the production process of this well-known drink. Travel back to Guadalajara for a walking tour through downtown, visiting some interesting points such as theDegollado Theatre, the Cathedral, the Roundabout of Illustrious Men, the Government Palace with murals painted by José Clemente Orozco, the Tapatia Square, and a panoramic view of Hospicio Cabañas. You will also be able to visit the Libertad Market. Overnight in Guadalajara.
Day 7: Guadalajara – Tlaquepaque – Guanajuato (B, L)
Today, you will travelling to Tlaquepaque, a little town famous for the finest ceramic, wood and glass handicraft in the State of Jalisco. Enjoy lunch in a typical Mexican restaurant before departing for Guanajuato. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight in Guanajuato
Day 8: Guanajuato (B)
Enjoy a full-day visit to Guanajuato. In the afternoon, you will enjoy this beautiful city, full of alleys and squares, and many sites like the University of Guanajuato, the Juarez Theatre, the famous Alley of the Kiss, the house-museum of Diego Rivera. Overnight in Guanajuato.
Day 9: Guanajuato –San Miguel de Allende – Querétaro– Mexico City (B)
Today, travel to San Miguel de Allende and visit the church dedicated to San Miguel Archangel. Enjoy the Main Square, the Municipal Palace, the House of Mayorazgo de la Canal, the Art and Culture Institute Allende, and the old house of Ignacio Allende. Continue on to Queretaro for a walking tour and visit the House of Corregidora (now serving as Municipal Palace), Sierra Gorda Earl’s House, and more exciting attractions. Return to Mexico City for your overnight.
Day 10: Mexico City (B)
Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination.
