ITINERARY

9 NIGHTS / 10 DAYS

Day 1: Canada –Mexico City

Arrival in Mexico City and transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2: Zocalo and Coyoacan (B)

After breakfast, enjoy a half-day tour of the city. You will be able to see the National Palace, the Cathedral, and the Plaza of Three Cultures. In the afternoon, you will visit San Angel and Coyoacan. San Angel and Coyoacan are named Magical Neighbourhoods by Mexico City’s Secretary of Tourism. Enjoy this colonial city filled with cobblestone streets, gardens, plazas, history. You can enter museums of artwork, including some prehistoric art that was once owned by Frida and her husband, Diego Rivera. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: La Villa and Teotihuacan (B, L)

Today, you will enjoy a full day at the Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe—the patron saint of Mexico—and the pre-Aztec ruins of Teotihuacan, famous for the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Teotihuacan is known as “the place where the gods were created” and is a holy city built between the 1st and 7th centuries.

You will be able to see one of the most important preserved civilizations in Mesoamerica. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Xochimilco (B, L)

Experience a community as you float along the canals with friends, drinks, and food. Overnight hotel.

Day 5: Los Mochis (B)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Los Mochis, a coastal city, and begin a Copper Canyon train excursion to see the Copper Canyon desert region in the Mexican wilderness.

Once back in Los Mochis, you will transfer to a hotel in nearby El Fuerte. The rest of the day will be left for you to explore El Fuerte.

 

Day 6: Cerocahui (B, L, D)

Transfer to the train station to catch the“El  Chepe”train to Cerocahui and the Mision Hotel. You will enjoy a 3-hour tour to Gallego’s Overlook where you can get an expansive view of the Urique Canyon. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Barrancas del Cobre (B, L)

Take another train today to Posada Barrancas and the Mirador Hotel for an extravagant view overlooking the Copper Canyon. You will have a 2-hour excursion to explore the canyon. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Chihuahua (B, L)

Board a train to Chihuahua City, known for its desert landscapes and the Sierra Tarahumara Mountains. Dinner will be served on board. Upon arrival, transfer to overnight hotel. The day is at leisure.

Day 9: Mexico City (B)

After a good breakfast, you will spend the morning taking in the sights of Chihuahua City such as the museum in the home of the famous Pancho Villa. After this morning, you will transfer to the airport for a flight to Mexico City. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 10: Mexico City – Canada (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination.
