ITINERARY

7 NIGHTS / 8 DAYS

Day 1: Canada – Guatemala

Arrival in Guatemala City and transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2: Antigua (B, L)

Today we head to the Magical Colonial Village of Antigua. Afternoon at leisure to visit its Museums, various Indian markets or stroll through the cobble stone streets. Overnight Antigua.

Day 3: Chichicastenango (B, L)

After breakfast, transfer to Chichicastenango. Here you will enjoy the multicolored market and their traditions. The magic that surrounds the ancient, indigenous commercial process in a mixture of flower scents and incense turn the event into a magical moment. At 2:00 p.m. we head to Panajachel. Overnight in Panajachel.

Day 4: Panajachel and Lake Atitlan (B, L)

This morning, you will take a scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan (30mins) to visit the many villages around the lake. Visits include a women’s textile cooperative to see hand weaving and the natural dye process. Then continue to the village of Santiago. After we finish our visit to these magnificent villages, we continue to Antigua, Guatemala (2.5 hrs). Overnight in Antigua.

Day 5: Yaxha Archaeological Site (B, D)

4:30 am, transfer from Antigua to Guatemala City airport to board flight to Tikal, Flores. 

 

Upon arrival, we will be transported towards Yaxhá National Park (1 hr), where the Survivor series “The Mayan Empire” were filmed. Yaxhá archaeological site is located in the shores of the Yaxhá Lake. Here, we will walk through their causeways under an exuberant tropical forest, where howling monkeys flood the atmosphere. We will conclude the day in the high part of the temple 216, the highest structure in the area, where we will enjoy an unforgettable evening listening to the birds sing. After sunset we will go to Flores Island for overnight.

Day 6: Tikal (B, L)

Today, you will enjoy a guided tour through the paths and main areas of the most important city of the Mayan World. Here you will find that nature and archaeology are wonderfully blended. You will be able to see abundant wildlife, the Mayan forest, millennial temples silent witnesses of the birth and splendor as well as of the collapse of one of the most important civilizations on the planet. Overnight Flores Island.

Day 7: Ixpanpajul Park/Guatemala City (B, L)

Ixpanpajul is approx. 15 kms from Flores and is a natural shelter to a wide variety of plants, trees and animals. 2 optional tours are offered: the Sky Walk or the Canopy tour. You will have the opportunity of direct contact with nature. Afternoon transfer to the airport for flight back to Guatemala City. Overnight Guatemala.
 

Day 8: Guatemala City/ Canada (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination.
