ITINERARY

7 NIGHTS / 8 DAYS

Day 1: Canada / Quito

Arrival in Quito and transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2: Quito (B)

Colonial city tour & Middle of the World, bustling streets and squares of the largest historical old town in the Americas. Visit the“Middle of the World” located at 0º latitude. Overnight.

Day 3: Otavalo Market & Surroundings (B)

Visit the well-known indigenous market in Otavalo for an arts and crafts shopping adventure. Visit Peguche, known for its weavers; Cotacachi, known for the manufacturing of leather goods; and Cuicocha Crater lake. Back to Quito for overnight.

Day 4: Quito / Galapagos Island & cruise (B,L,D)

Early morning transfer from hotel to Quito airport for flight to Baltra (2 ½ hour flight). A certified naturalist guide will take you on a 10 minute bus drive to the pier to board the yachts.

PM – Fausto Llerena Breeding Center – Charles Darwin Station(Santa Cruz) – Dry landing. We will visit the Station where the Galapagos giant tortoise breeding program takes place as part of our efforts to preserve the fragile Galapagos.

Day 5: Galapagos Island- Baltra Island (B,L,D)

Wet landing on a white sand beach surrounded by a sea lion colony; we continue walking through an endemic cactus forest as we search for the endemic Santa Fe land iguana, the largest in the islands Deep-water snorkelling opportunity.

 

PM – South Plaza (Plaza Island). Dry landing on the northern part of the Islet. In South Plaza, there is a large colony of the smaller sized land iguanas. They feed on all kinds of vegetation. We will encounter the one and only Galapagos hybrid iguana.

Day 6: Galapagos Island/ North Seymour & Bachas Beach (B,L,D)

This is perhaps one of the busiest tourist destinations on the archipelago. An approximately 2 hour walk amidst large nesting colonies of blue-footed boobies*, magnificent and great frigate birds*, swallow-tailed gulls, sea lions, and land iguanas.

PM – Bachas Beach (Santa Cruz) Wet landing on the north side of Santa Cruz; behind the beach lie two small flamingo ponds with iguanas, coastal birds, Darwin finches, mockingbirds, and gulls, as well as interesting native and endemic vegetation, red and black mangroves, salt bushes, and much more. This beach is one of the main nesting sites of sea turtles* in the Galapagos.

Day 7: Galapagos Island / San Cristobal (B,L,D)

Dry landing in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, capital of the Galapagos Islands. Visit of the Interpretation Center, an excellent place to learn about Natural History in the Galapagos. After the visit, you will go straight to the airport for return flight to Guayaquil or Quito.

Day 8: Quito (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination.
