ITINERARY

9 NIGHTS / 10 DAYS

Day 1: Bogota

Arrival in Bogota and transfer from the airport to the hotel. Overnight in Bogota.

Day 2: Bogota (B, L)

After breakfast, you will enjoy a half-day walking tour of La Candelaria in Bogota—the oldest part of the city. You will get to visit the Plaza Bolivar, the Botero Museum (a museum dedicated to the “oversized”artwork of Botero but also Van Gogh and Monet), the gold museum (holding some of the world’s finest gold collections), and more. Be prepared to immerse yourself in the city and learn the culture. Overnight in Bogota.

 

Day 3: Zipaquira (B, L)

After breakfast you will embark on a half-day tour today, to Zipaquira—Colombia’s salt mining capital. Here, you will get the chance to visit the famous Salt Cathedral. This Cathedral is a must-see as it carved underground in a still-functioning salt mine. You will get to go underground and see the amazing Stations of the Cross as your descend into the deepest parts of the Cathedral. It’s truly an awe-inspiring construction. After the tour, you will travel back to Bogota. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Coffee Region (B, L)

Today, you will take a domestic flight to the coffee region of Colombia. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel with a guide. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 5: Coffee Region (B, L)

After breakfast, you will indulge in a half-day coffee tour. Some say that coffee is what makes this region what it is—the heart and soul of Colombia. Journey through the scenery, the rolling hills, and the plantations of coffee. Smell the aroma of pure café. You will learn of the full process from seeding coffee beans to drinking coffee, and of course, have a taste test of some of the best coffee in the world. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 6: Filandia, Cocora Valley, and Salento (B, L)

Enjoy a full-day tour of Filandia, Cocora Valley, and Salento. You will get the opportunity to learn of the culture and natural beauty of the region. Filandia will offer a coffee break and tranquility as you take in your surroundings. From there, you will travel to  the Cocora Valley. This Swiss-like landscape will leave you in awe as it lies along the central Andean range. Enjoy a horseback ride or a nice walk to take in the scenery. Finally, you will visit Salento, a small rural town perfect for a traditional feel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Cartagena (B, L)

Transfer to airport for a domestic flight to Cartagena via Bogota. Meet your guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel for overnight at Cartagena.

 

Day 8: Cartagena (B, L)

Enjoy a half-day walking tour to the historical centre of Cartagena. This colour-stricken city is full of culture and history. You will visit the Puerta Del Reloj (the clock tower) and hear the Salsa from Café Havana, where dance is key. Overnight in Cartagena.

Day 9: Cartagena (B, L)

Enjoy this free day at leisure in Cartagena. Enjoy the cobble- stoned streets as you immerse yourself in the culture and explore the city. You may even travel to the beaches of Boca Grande for a beach day! Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Cartagena (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination.
