Day 1: Mexico City

Arrival in Mexico City and transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2: Mexico City –  City Tour – Museum of Anthropology (B, L)

Today you will take a city tour of the historic centre (declared a cultural heritage site by UNESCO). Continue to Paseo de la Reforma and the Chapultepec area, where the Museum of Anthropology is located, visiting the most representative rooms in this museum. Return to hotel. Overnight in Mexico City.

 

Day 3: Mexico City – Basilica of Guadalupe – Pyramids of Teotihuacan (B, L)

Breakfast. Take a panoramic tour at the Square of Three Cultures; a historical place, witness to the last battle between the Aztecs and the Spanish during the conquest of Mexico-Tenochtitlan. You will continue to the Basilica of Guadalupe, where you can see the original image of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a  panoramic view of the old Basilica based on the foothills of Tepeyac. Then, we will take our nonstop trip to the Pyramids of Teotihuacan– “City of Gods” –where you can admire the most impressive archaeological site in the Mexico City area; The Pyramid of the Sun (the  big one), the Pyramid of the Moon, Avenue of the Dead and Quetzalcoatl Temple. Enjoy a buffet lunch and return to Mexico City. Free time for personal activities. Overnight in Mexico City.

 

Day 4: Mexico City – Villahermosa – Palenque (B, L)

Enjoy breakfast before your arrival at Villahermosa International Airport and transfer to Palenque. Dinner and overnight in Palenque.

 

Day 5: Palenque – Campeche (B, L)

Today, visit the archaeological site of Palenque, the most influential Mayan City with beautiful sculptures amidst the greenery. In the Pyramid of the Inscriptions was found the King Pakal’s Sacophagus, with an engraved tombstone. In this archaeological site, you will visit the Temple of the Foliated Cross, the Temple of the Sun and the Palace before continuing on to a panoramic view of the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy dinner before your arrival in Campeche. Overnight in Campeche.

Day 6: Campeche – Uxmal– Merida (B, L)

Enjoy breakfast before a city tour in Campeche; then, travel to Uxmal. A visit to this archaeological site will give you the opportunity to see the Pyramid of the Fortune Teller, the Square of the Nuns, and the Governor’s Palace. Continue to Merida– “The White City”—where you will have a quick city tour. Overnight in Merida.

Day 7: Merida – Chichen Itza – Cancun (B, L)

After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the pyramids of Chichen Itza. Overnight in Cancun.

Day 8: Cancun (B, L)

Today you will visit Agua Azul Waterfalls, with beautiful turquoise-toned waters. You will have a chance to  swim in this beautiful place and, If the weather permits, we will continue to Palenque. Dinner and overnight in Cancun.

Day 9: Cancun (B)

Day at leisure to enjoy the resort.

Day 10: Cancun (B)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination.
