DAY 1

Arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport and transfer to the river port. Travel 45 minutes down the Madre de Dios River to Reserva Amazonica. Enjoy lunch upon arrival and, in the afternoon, one of the guides will lead a walk through the system of trails close to the lodge. After dinner, go out again to explore the area of the river after dark. (L,D)

DAY 2

Today visit Rolin Island also known as “Monkey Island” for the large numbers of the animals that live there. After lunch at the lodge visit the wetlands with their particular ecosystem. (B,L,D)

DAY 3

Today is a good day to visit the Canopy Tour for an unique view of the Amazon forest or relax in a hammock and enjoy the peace of the Amazon. (B,L,D)

DAY 4

After a delicious breakfast depart Reserva Amazonica for Puerto Maldonado and the flight out. On the way stop to visit the butterfly farm and be amazed at the variety of butterflies kept there. (B)
