DAY 1

Arrive Buenos Aires and transfer to downtown hotel for 4 nights including breakfast.

DAY 2

Today enjoy the sights of this cosmopolitan capital on a half day tour of the city. The tour introduces the most beautiful, and interesting parts of Buenos Aires: the famous Casa Rosada, and the spectacular Recoleta cemetery. The guide explains the history of the city, and how it has been affected by successive waves of immigration. (B)

DAY 3

Day free to enjoy Buenos Aires (B)

DAY 4

Day free. In the evening immerse yourself in that most haunting aspect of all Argentine culture, the Tango. Have dinner and revel in the rhythms and dance of this famous music. (B,D)

DAY 5

Arrive Calafate and transfer to the hotel. Use the remainder of the day to explore the village. Overnight Calafate. (B)

DAY 6

After breakfast depart for a full day tour to the Estancia Cristina to experience ranch life in this zone of Patagonia. Board the “Upsala Explorer” to cross Lago Argentino. Enjoy spectacular views of the Spegazzini and Upsala Glaciers. At the ranch choose between a safari excursion by all-terrain vehicle on horseback. A typical lamb barbeque lunch will be served. After lunch return to Puerto Banderas and then to Calafate. Overnight Calafate. (B,L)

DAY 7

After breakfast depart for a full day excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier, designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site. This educational tour provides a panoramic view of this huge glacier and the continental ice shelf. An optional boat cruise approaches the face of the glacier where it meets the water. Overnight Calafate. (B)

DAY 8

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Ushuaia. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Balance of the day is free to get to know this “southernmost city of the world”. Overnight Ushuaia (B)

DAY 9

In the morning, after breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Tierra del Fuego national Park with its numerous lakes, rivers and waterfalls. In the afternoon board a catamaran to cruise the Beagle Channel visiting island sanctuaries for birds and sea lions.(B)

DAY 10

After breakfast check-out and transfer to the airport for the flight to Trelew gateway to the natural paradise of the Valdes Peninsula. Upon arrival transfer to Puerto Madryn. Overnight in Puerto Madryn.(B)

DAY 11

Following breakfast depart on a full day tour of the Valdes Peninsula. The tour provides ample opportunity to see large numbers of sea lions and Southern elephant seals in their natural environment. Overnight in Puerto Madryn.(B)

DAY 12

The excursion today visits Punta Tombo, the location of the largest Penguin rookery in the continent. See these interesting and sometime comical birds up close and wild. (B,Box L)

DAY 13

Breakfast then transfer to the airport for the flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel for one night including breakfast. (B)

DAY 14

Breakfast then at the appropriate time transfer to the airport for departure. (B)
