Day 1: Canada – Managua

Arrival in Managua and transfer from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2: Leon (B, L)

Upon arrival, you will meet and greet your guide who will take you to Leon. You will take a tour of the city, visiting sights of interest such as the Cathedral, the Ortiz Art Gallery, and the Birth House of the Nicaraguan poet Ruben Dario. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Managua (B, L)

Enjoy your breakfast at El Convento before you head to Ron Flor de Cana Distillery for a Nicaragua rum tour. Learn how it’s harvested, processed, and mulled into what we drink. You will then travel to Managua for lunch and a tour of the city. Learn of the culture and history of Nicaragua. After this tour, you will be driven to Granada, a colonial city known to have survived repeated pirate invasions. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Masaya (B, L)

After a delicious breakfast at Plaza Colon Hotel, you will take a city tour of Granada and see some landmarks such as the cathedral, the San Francisco Museum, the Old Rail Station, the Chocolate Museum, and the Elba Cigars Factory.

 

Enjoy lunch before you leave for a day trip to Masaya Volcano National Park—the most active volcano in the country. Spend time shopping at the handcraft markets and enjoying the view of Apoyo Lagoon at Catarina viewpoint. It will be a day trip to remember. Overnight at hotel in Granada.

Day 5: Granada (B, L)

Transfer from Granada to Cabana Amarilla Port for a boat tour around the isletas—an archipelago of more than 365 little islands of volcanic origin in Lake Cocibolca. Enjoy lunch before visiting Mombacho Volcano. Here, you will trek the trails at this rainforest natural reserve and experience nature firsthand. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6-8: San Juan del Sur (B)

Enjoy breakfast before a visit to San Juan del Sur and El Cristo de la Misericordia viewpoint where you capture the view of the Bay of the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a free afternoon in the town to explore the area and experience the culture. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9: San Juan del Sur-Managua- Canada (B)

Transfer to airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination.
