DAY 1: Canada/ Rio de Janeiro

Arrival in Rio de Janeiro and transfer from the airport to the hotel. Rest of the day free. Overnight.

DAY 2: Rio de Janeiro – Sugar Loaf (B, D)

In the morning, enjoy a half-day city tour and Sugar Loaf. This tour begins with a panoramic view through downtown Rio, passing the Sambodrome and the metropolitan Cathedral, in pyramid form, Get to know the traditional Cinelândia Square with its historical buildings, the Municipal Theater, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts. By taking the Aterro do Flamengo, you will be taken to the neighborhood of Urca where one of the largest symbols of the city is located: Sugar Loaf. You’ll travel all the way to the top in 2 steps by cable car. The first cable car takes us to Urca Hill, a vantage point 215 m high and then a second cable car takes us up to the top.

At 395 m we’ll enjoy splendid views of the Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and the several beaches of Niterói. Evening transfer for dinner at a local Churrascaria to enjoy a wonderful Barbecue and a Samba Show.

DAY 3: Rio de Janeiro – Tropical Islands Cruise (B, L)

Today is a full-day tour. You will be taken by bus to Itacuruçá. This is approximately a 1 hour ride, and this is where the schooner will depart for a full-day cruise around Rio’s Tropical Islands. White sandy beaches, gorgeous palms, and crystal clear waters are part of this paradise. Relax and enjoy yourselves on this cruise. Lunch at the Itacuruçá Island will be included. Return to hotel. Overnight.

 

DAY 4: Rio de Janeiro – Corcovado (B)

Today, a half-day Corcovado tour by bus and train. After picking you up from your hotel, we’ll pass the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (except on Sundays) on our way to reach the Cosme Velho Train cog station, which sits at the bottom of Corcovado Mountain.

Here, we will take the ride up  to the top, through the dense Tijuca rain forest to the 38m tall (125ft) Christ Redeemer Statue.

With a panoramic view from the top, you will witness spectacular sights of Rio and the surrounding countryside. Return to hotel. Overnight.

DAY 5: Rio de Janeiro (B)

Time to rest. Full day at your leisure on the fabulous beaches of Copacabana or Ipanema.

DAY 6: Rio de Janeiro (B)

Another full day to enjoy, at your leisure, the fabulous beaches of Copacabana or Ipanema.

DAY 7: Rio de Janeiro (B)

Enjoy a full day at your leisure on the fabulous beaches of Copacabana or Ipanema.

DAY 8: Rio de Janeiro/ Canada (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight back home or to an on-going destination.
